Why are the Adobe (TypeKit) fonts I am syncing not showing up for use in Illustrator?

Hi there,

I am beyond frustrated right now.  But that's neither here nor there for anyone reading this so I will get to the point.

I have synced the TypeKit font, Tablet Gothic Wide to my Mac, but it simply won't show up as a font choice in Illustrator.  Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sam

This issue is infuriating and particularly prevelant in CC 2022.  I had CC running and signed in, adobe fonts enabled, syncing enabled, I followed every shred of troubleshooting advice available and *nothing* got the fonts in question appearing in my fonts directory in Indesign - EVEN THOUGH EVERY OTHER APP HAD THEM AVAILABLE. Reverting to InDesign 2021 was the only solve that worked for me.

You can get individual assistance with your system by contacting Customer Care and have them take a look inside your system.

I have no idea how to fix this. I've tried deactivating and reactivating and still none of my fonts show up on Illustrator...

None of these solutions are working for me. Everything is working except there is one specific variant of a font that shows up as active in Creative Cloud but in Premiere, the variant that I want doesn't show up. Why is there no easy solution for this problem? Does Adobe not understand that people use these applications for their jobs and that we shouldn't have to spend time-solving technical issues while we are clocked in? If Adobe products were never pushed onto me in college, I would search for an alternative so fast. I guess I will uninstall Premiere and reinstall it in hopes that will do something.

I wish I could spend my time creating artwork and doing my job rather than solving a new technical issue caused by an update every single time I open an Adobe product.

So your issue is with Premiere? This is the Illustrator forum.

There can't need to be a general solution, because there is no general issue. This is individual and caused by your system configuration.

Hi I am trying to follow the instructions you gave but I cannot find the C C app assets / fonts tab. Could you tell me know how I can access that? Thanks!

Restart Program

Restart CC

Logout and Back in

Sync Button

Unsyncing and resyncing from typekit website

Checking for Updates

Saying "AAAAGGGHHGAGGAGHGH!" and gesturing madly at the screen.

Clicking every button ever

Messing with Font Book

What finally worked:

I restarted the computer and checked the CC app Assets/Fonts tab. FINALLY it says SOMETHING (before it was the "Get Started with Fonts!" screen).

It told me that it was trying to sync a duplicated font, so I went and unsynced that one from typekit, and now everything is working fine.

Same here, the font syncing is on and they show up in Indesign but nothing in Illustrator.

This TypeKit thing is garbage. Fix this, Adobe.

Because the thread opener didn't care to mark the correct answer.

Have you read the complete thread and tried all the options it proposes? Does anything of it help?

Hi I have this issue with my typekit. I have fonts installed on my work computer and when working on my macbook at home it tells me fonts are synced but when opening Indesign the fonts are missing. I have done all suggested troubleshooting, in creative cloud, turning on and off synced fonts etc. This is a recurrant issue can someone help once and for all as to why this happens please? And what i can do. It is a big timewaster...
