Why do I have two versions of Illustrator?

Hi all

During the recent update to v 27.0, I seem to have ended up with a duplicate version of the app.

The update from 25 days ago was for v 27.0.

But, for some reason, 4 days ago there was another update – for v 26.5.1, and now I seem to have ended up with a second Illustrator entirely.

Now I have two icons in my dock, Adobe Illustrator 2022 and Adobe Illustrator 2023.

What's up with this? Can I safely remove Illustrator 2022 without missing anything?

Specs: MacOS Catalina 10.15.7

Thanks in advance for any tips.

You can have as many versions of Illustrator installed as you like. The default setting in the creative cloud app is to remove older versions when updating, but it's not a problem to maintain them -- it's a good idea even, until you know that the new version is fine in your production environment with your plugins.

If you want to remove it, you can do so via the CC app.

Thank you Doug!

I was curious when CC did not remove the previous version when 27.0 was installed. I will do as you suggested and wait for a while using 2023 before removing the 2022 version.

Thanks again!
