Width tool creating looped geometry

Hi all,

I am struggling to fix an issue. When I use the width tool with Uniform settings i am getting unusual geometry as seen in the screen shot below i have circled in blue. Can someone please tell me how to eliminate this since it is creating a downstream impact to another program i am using.

this is the normal thing when you have an anchur piont, it will do nothing as long as its a stroke, but if you expand appearance and this stroke will be fill and you will have to fix tyhis issue by shape builder tool.
