Windows 10 - NVidia 1070 - 32 GB PC — Massive Slowing in Illustrator

Hey Gang,

New guy to the forums. I use Illustrator on the regular for my job using a MAC Book Pro with no problems (minor crashes here and there due to massively complicated files, yada yada yada). HOWEVER. I just completed building a new Windows 10 desktop computer:

Windows 10 (OS Build 15063.296)

Intel Core i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz

32.0 GB RAM

64-Bit OS

NVidia GeForce GTX 1070 (Primary Monitor Output Device)

My problem is about massive latency when designing intricate vector patterns (color swatch palette). I've made 5x more intricate designs on my MAC Book pro 16gb laptop without having these massive issues. I'm not sure how to best optimize my PC to get it to not have these problems. Is there a fix for these problems? I've been noticing that a lot of Windows 10 issue posts combined with NVidia GeForce graphics cards also...

I also looked at my task manager while illustrator was running and it was taking up near 10gb of memory!!

Hi chrisa

Configuration of system looks fine.

If I get the issue, Illustrator is generally slow while working on complex files?

In order to get to the cause of this problem, I would like to check one of the file at my end.

Please create a package of any such file and upload it to some network location like creative cloud , dropbox or google drive and share link with us.

Hello Srishti,

I had a phone conversation with someone in the technical support and I was given this case number 188-960-868.

The were able to use connect and see how much slowing I was having (nearly 5 minutes to select an object inside the pattern editing with the application becoming non-responsive). The rest of my computer is fine while Illustrator has massive issues doing the most mundane things.

I will try and upload a file and share it with you.
