Workspace Issues and Tools Missing from Illustrator 24.2.1

Hello,

I recently updated my Illustrator the the most recent version (24.2.1) and my tools are missing. I was able to reclaim the tools from the windows pannel but all of the options from the right side of the screen were still missing. Typicaly I would reset my workspace to "essentials classic" or "essentials" but I am currently stuck on my preset workspace and am unable to switch out of it.

A potential solution is installing a previous version to fix this issue, which has worked in the past for me. The intention with this post to to seek a potential solution and to notify the proper parties regarding this issue.

Hopefully this will be fixed in the next update. Thanks!

First step: try signing out of the Creative Cloud account, rebooting the computer and then signing back into the account. If that doesn't work resetting the AI Preferences file might help. If the problem still persists it might be necessary to remove Illustrator using the CC Cleaner tool and then reinstalling Illustrator.

A student of mine has lost all the options for different workspaces in Illustrator, using a Mac.

The only one that is left is Automation. Nothing I have tried has fixed the issue so far, any suggestions? We've tried some Illustrator restarts while holding the following keys.

Shift command alt/option and also Shift Control option/alt

(I found one video that suggested that this would reset Illustrator but no discernable changes occured, so we need something else).

Thanks in advance.

Did you already reset the preferences after updating?

This will erase previous settings, but is usually necessary after an update.
