As already said by others; never use a beta or prerelease version for serious work. They are there to test things, detect bugs and get feedback.

Always have the latest regular version installed for your daily work (yes, you can have the regular version (at this moment 28.2) installed as well as a beta version on the same system).

Same thing happend to me. It was open in the background (Mac OS Sonoma 14.3) then suddenly this error message pops up.

This happens with Illustrator Beta (28.2).

Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help.

Illustrator 28.3 has expired... only just updated it. (Mac M1  Ventura 13.5.2)

The official 28.2 release works fine, so I don't have any problems working, it is just that I wanted to point out that the latest update isn't working.

Hi there,

Sorry about the trouble. I agree with @Test Screen Name. Beta's app gets expired when a new one releases. Any particular reason you are using beta release? Which version of macOS are you using? Is it happening while opening a specific document or all? You may share the document with us. You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link here. We will try to recover it. Multiple factors can lead to file corruption. However, we can take a look and see if the file can be repaired. I must also inform you that file recovery can't be guaranteed with 100% success. We'll surely try our best.

Also, you may try installing an older version of Illustrator, version 25.4.1, and see if that helps resolve the issue.

Will be looking forward to your response.

Hi Anshul,

I started to have the same error (Your Illustrator build has expired) every time I launched the Illustrator Beta. I don't know the beta version and can't even check the About section to look anymore.
I'm using a Macbook Pro 2023 M2 Max with Ventura 13.4.1. And I can use normal Adobe Illustrator 27.3.1 without any problem.
But, I want to keep using the Illustrator Beta version because of some of the extra features I like to use.

Is there any way to keep using the beta version?

Thank you!

Hi @Gizem Gul,

It seems like you're encountering the "Your Illustrator build has expired" error when trying to use the Illustrator Beta. This issue can occur when the beta version you have installed reaches its expiration date. Unfortunately, there isn't a direct way to bypass this error within the beta version itself.

However, the good news is that we have recently released a new beta version, 28.0.0.7, to address such issues and provide users with updated features and bug fixes. As Monika suggested to continue using the Illustrator Beta with the latest features, and without encountering the expiration error, keep an eye out for new beta updates on the Creative Cloud app. When a new beta version becomes available, you can download and install it to enjoy the extended functionality while avoiding the expiration problem. Please check for updates manually in the Creative Cloud app, and you will see the latest beta build.

I hope this information helps, and I wish you a smooth experience with the latest Illustrator Beta version!

Best regards,

Anshul Saini

I did installed the new beta version, 28.0.0.7 and still get the same message so it does not solve the issue, unfortunately...

you can't go back to old betas. They are designed to expire. Focus on fixing the new problem.

After I update version 26 my file can't open. I think most of them that created by version 25.5 is broken. any idea?

juisdy,

Did you try the link to get the old 25.5 back?
