zoom and smooth tool issue

I'm using a wacom tablet with a touch ring set to zoom. When drawing with a brush and zooming in or out, I get the annoying smooth tool pop up. This is because the smooth tool shortcut is alt, and the zoom shortcut for my touch ring uses alt. How do I get rid of this pop up?

You can't get rid of it. FOr the brush tool you cannot even turn off the Alt key behaviour (which is possible for the pencil tool

I really hope there is a work aound for this because this dumb smooth tool pop up is the most annoying thing of all time.
