Zoom settings

Hello guys,

I would like to ask about zoom settings in the new Ai 2017.

In the previous version my screen was zooming in and out in the position of my mouse cursor, which I got really used to. Now in this new version it zooms in and out from the middle of my screen regardless where my cursor is.

Do you know whether it can be adjusted and where I could do that?

When I press ALT before zooming it works perfectly. However the thing I would like to solve is, that in the previous version of Ai, I did not have to press the ALT key. My zoom was automatically set for my cursor. :-)

Mac or PC??

On PC I use Alt and mouse wheel and it zooms into where the cursor is on the screen..?

I have PC... and it zooms into where my cursor is.

To test... new doc at letter size

Put a small 1" rectangle in the bottom right corner.

Go into Zoom mode, press and hold down on mouse over the rectangle

It zooms the page so that the small rectangle is near your cursor.

I wish they had never removed the marquee zoom though.... another dumb idea by Adobe (of course)

How do you zoom? With the Zoom tool or with Cmd+ (or Ctrl+)?

Illustrator never zoomed in to the position of the mouse cursor with Cmd+, it always zoomed to the center of your current screen.

New in 2017 is the Zoom to selection. Cmd + now zooms in to a selected object or selected anchor point(s).

I am using MAC and zoom on touchpad by pinching two fingers (either directly on macbook or by using magic trackpad), which is I guess the same as by scroll wheel on mouse.
