Adobe Animate -> Adobe Illustrator

Good afternoon everyone.

Can anyone tell me how to take the artwork I created in Adobe Animate CC (formerly known as Adobe Flash) and place it in Illustrator?

I've searched and asked many people and many sites.

The most common responses are:

  1. Why would you want to do that?
  2. You should draw in Illustrator in the first place
  3. I don't think you can.
  4. I don't think you should.
  5. Use Photoshop instead.
  6. I'm tired of people asking this question, give it up already.
  7. I have that question too.

I apologize if one or more of these is that true and final answer, no need to respond if it is. But if anyone here knows how to draw something in Adobe Animate and bring it successfully into Adobe Illustrator, please let me know.

Correct answer Monika Gause

Try Export (Legacy) in Animate and select SVG

I wouldn't expect this to work for each and every type of graphic, transparency or effect
