Adobe Illustrator 10.0.3 compatibility issues?

After the latest or maybe a few updates in Windows 10 AI10.3 no longer displays like its suppose to. I haven't used it in months until today. When I engage the program it goes though the motions and opens n such but no text displaying in the menus for the objects, open/closed/locked not displaying either. Even when the title displays, no credits displays/scrolls below. I tried fiddling with the compatibility mode but no dice.

So if any one can help me with this it would be very much appreciated.

Please note that I only know so much and I have know idea how to make a previous Windows version with in my current. Besides I don't think I have much room for that dual boot thing either.

Thanks and any suggestions much appreciated.

If you can, down-grade to the previous version that Ai10.03 worked.  Otherwise, not much you can do.  Obviously w10 is not compatable with Ai10.03.

I use Photoshop and image ready 7.0 with The latest W-10 and they work fine.

But I cannot install AI 10.03. I bought them both at the same time.

I don't want to rent them. Is there another program like Illustrator?

Kitty,

This may be outdated with the latest update(s), but you may try to look here:

Short of rolling back the latest update(s), you may try this,

Failing that, you may try this repetitive procedure, once a month, but it may be too tiresome,

Humm. Well allrighty then. Thanks. A shame the only solution here is to basically "rent" the program.

Currently that outlet is too expensive for me so I'll have to figure another work around. A real shame.

No. There's another solution: downgrade the system.

Recent updates to Windows 10 have made any pre-CC versions of Illustrator unusable. I've seen at least one post that a subsequent update to Windows 10 will fix the problem but I have not seen any further confirmation that this is so. Unfortunately, since you said that downgrading your OS is out of the question, the only practical solution is to get a subscription to Creative Cloud and install the CC 2017 version of Illustrator.
