Adobe illustrator version 23.1

Hello! 
I recently bought and installed the adobe illustrator package for students. With the activation code i received via mail i downloaded the creative cloud desktop and via that platform i downloaded Adobe illustrator. When i open the pogram it opens like normal, i can exces settings etc. but when i choose ''New file'' the entire program crashes so its basically useless....

Im running Windows 10 with an Intel core I7-7700HQ, 8GB Ram, 64 bits and have a NVIDIA graphicscard.

Is a printer connected, set up as a default printer and turned on?

If you don't have a printer, set up a PDF printer.
