Hi! How can I align the stroke outside on new objects by default?

I try Graphic Styles but it doesn't work for me.

Thank you!

Which version of Illustrator are you using?

Also, what exactly do you mean by "graphic styles do not work" for you. How did you create them and what settings did you use? Please elaborate in case some other details may be important to know about your request.

Open stroke panel, while you are not selecting anything. customize the options you want, align stroke to outside.

then when you draw any object it will take this options.

I am using version 24.0.1
Now I don't use any graphic style to minimize possible errors. I do it as manal_shanableh  says, and when using the bezier curve, for example, after setting the options in the panel, it automatically aligns the stroke to the center and not to the outside as I wanted.

So you use the pen tool?

Are the paths closed?

Align stroke to outside only works with closed paths.

Illustrator only recognizes an inside or outside of a closed path, such as that created by the Rectangle, Ellipse, Star, etc, tool. When you start to create a path with the Pen or Pencil Tool it is an open path, and Illustrator reverts to center alignment of the stroke, every time.

So: First, go to the Appearance panel flyout menu and deselect New Art has Basic Appearance.

Then, with the Width Tool, create a stroke profile that places the stroke all on one side of the

path. As long as that profile is selected in the Strole panel, any basic stroke (no brush applied) will have the stroke on that side of the path. If it's on the wrong side, click the Flip Across button in the Stroke panel, and all subsequent strokes will be on the other side of the path, until you change it.

Yes, the strokes are closed. With the pencil tool it works well and it is aligned to the outside as I want, but with the pen/bezier tool it does not and the stroke is aligned to the center.

Thanks Peter! I do it but it doesn't work with the pen / bezier. With the pencil it works perfectly. I have the possibility to create all the default strokes outside, which allows me to work later with the Shape Creator tool to cut objects accurately and create, for example, degraded shadows in a fast way. The point is that I am used to drawing with the pen and this process would help me a lot.
