Bounding box and anchor point visibility issues

Hey, I'm having visibility issues with my guide lines when I use the pen tool/ anchor points and bounding box. They are showing in white but I'm having to work on a white background so really struggling to see them. Is there any way to change this?

Thanks for your reply.

Having done all of your suggested points, it looks like it's a problem with the most recent version of illustrator.

Here it is after I reset all the preferences (slightly improved but still not workable):

Then I tried rolling back to an old version of illustrator, here we are in 25.1:

Hoping this isn't planned obsolescence for those of us using older machines 😞 (currently running 27" iMac 2012)

They shouldn't look like that.

Have they always looked like that or has it been since an update?

Things I would try (in order):

Use View > Preview on CPU

Restart Illustrator

Try a new document

Restart my computer

Reset preferences

Reinstall Illustrator
