can I change the pattern color?

I like to fill an object with this pattern I get from windows/swatch library/ patterns, but instead of grey I like it black and white.

I don't want to do it in Photoshop, is there any way I can do in illustrator or I can make a fill like this?

    uniquestions,

You may drag the pattern swatch from the Swatch palette/panel to the Artboard, change the colour(s), and drag it back on top of the original one to replace it.

For my part you are welcome, uniquestions.

Are you using Alt or Option?

And thank you for stepping in, Scott.

Hold Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) as you drag the new artwork onto the swatch.
