Can I remove the legend from a graph created through the chart tool?

Hi Guys,

I have created a bar graph using the Illustrator graph tool and it has generated a legend. In excel I have the option to adjust the position or remove the legend but can't seem to find the option in Illustrator. I know that I can adjust the position to the top but I just want it not to show, I still need the data active so cannot ungroup the elements and delete it. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Halie

If you don’t want Illustrator to generate a legend, don’t enter data‑set labels.

You can read about how to create graphs here: How to create graphs in Illustrator and scroll down to 'Use graph labels and data sets'

If your workflow allows for this and your legend is separated enough from the graph, you can use a clipping path to clip out the legend - all in the name of not expanding and destroying the graph object.
