I'm suddenly receiving this error message when using Illustrator: "Can't copy the objects. There isn't enough memory. ID: -108"
I may have deleted a relevant Illustrator file by mistake during a recent duplicate file purge. Or, I may have deleted another type of file that was put into quarantine using one of my virus programs. I don't know enough about these things to know for sure. But, I've been searching all over the internet and support forums for ways to handle this specific error message and cannot find a solution, or a meaning for that matter.
It appears that this error message will only pop up when I attempt to copy text. If I outline the text, I can copy it without issue. And, as far as I can tell, there are no other issues with Illustrator. I use Illustrator CC (2015.3) (v 20.1.0) and it is up to date. Oh, and there are no other issues with my Windows 8.1 system as far as I can tell. Thank you in advance to anyone who can offer some insight. I really appreciate it!

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I'd recommend some steps which are worth trying:
1. Restart Illustrator/Computer.
2. Create a copy of the document (the one which is not letting you copy) and see if new one works better.
3. Try resetting preferences. Follow steps provided on
https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html#setting_illustrator_preferences
*Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.
While you try these, make sure no other program (like chrome or any other web extension is opened with Illustrator).
Let us know how it goes.
Regards,
Ashutosh

Thanks Ashutosh. I had tried all of those options previously but I did it again anyway. Unfortunately, it didn't fix the issue. Do you know exactly (or even approximately) what that error code is pointing to as the error? In other words, is it definitely confirming an error within Illustrator itself, or could it also be suggesting an error within my operating system outside of the program? I've debated uninstalling and reinstalling, but I have been upgrading since Illustrator 10 (using discs) and now use the downloaded updates. So, I'm hesitant to remove all of that because I don't have the confidence or assurance that it will make any difference.
