Hi folks
I've got some technical issue.
I am running a system with win 10, AMD quadcore CPU, 32 GB RAM and a Radeon hd 6450 GPU. Now illustrator needs up to an hour (no joke) to process some complex designs.
I can't find any specifications about CS6. Would it be helpful to upgrade the graphic card (kind of nvidia rtx 2060 oder similar) or should I rather buy a new workstation?
thx

CS6 does not support Windows 10.
Supports up to Windows 8.x environment.
If you want to use Windows 10, use the version provided by Creative Cloud.

it does, I definitivly work on CS6 with Win 10 pro.
There is no reason why I should upgrade the software (costs, workflow, etc).
Does illustrator need more CPU or more GPU?

Hi,
Illustrator CS6 does not support GPU. So changing the GPU to a higher performance one has no effect.
Illustrator CS6 Preferences
Illustrator 2020 Preferences
Illustrator has implemented GPU support since CC 2014.
Best,

It has been confirmed that Illustrator CS6 partially malfunctions after Windows 10 Version 1803.
Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed to work.
In the future, operating abnormalities may increase due to OS updates.

No point throwing money at hardware to run obsolete software. Keep them in step.

I tested Illustrator 2020 and got a very moderate improvement that doesn't justify to upgrade the software.
Some more idea to improve the hardware?
While proceeding some complex design, illustrator loads max. 28% CPU.
