Hello,
My kitten jumped on my keyboard and changed a bunch of settings in Illustrator. Now 2 of my shapes have what looks to be a stroke outline but it's not a stroke. The outlines can be clicked on but can't be moved, deleted and I can't find any settings for it in either the shape settings or it's own settings. The shapes can be moved, but the outline doesn't. Since I have no idea what this is, I couldn't find a solution. Any idea what this is and how to get rid of it?

Can you show a screendump with the problem object selected?
Show the Appearance Panel and the expanded Layers panel.
(Was it a black kitten?)

Everything is on one layer. Creating a new layer and hiding/deleting the first layer just deletes the objects. The stroke like line sti;; remains. I moved the objects they derived from to show better visibility. I forgot to mention that deleting the objects does not delete the line either.

(Nope, kitteh culprit is a tortie with white. I do have a black one as well though but he's much less "kitten" and more of a big baby.)

Ah ha! Yep! That was it! This has been my first foray into Illustrator in a very very long time. Thank you both so much for your help.

I think Monika is right, check the Artboard panel.
