Glyphs and converting strings to superscript

My goal is to convert a string to a superscript number in Illustrator. Is this possible? I haven't been able to find anything about working with glyphs online.

As an example you can change the first word in a textframe to superscript (Extendscript/Javascript):

app.activeDocument.textFrames[0].words[0].characterAttributes.baselinePosition = FontBaselineOption.SUPERSCRIPT;
