Most of the logos in your screen capture are just one shade of gray.

If the logo is black, like this:

Select it and change the fill color to gray. You can do that in the Color panel by setting it to Grayscale and moving the slider to the left.

If your client has obtained the right to use those logos then they can get a proper logo file from the company.

Or you could try Brandsoftheworld.com. Should have many of them.

Then I would suggest you trace them in black. ANd apply grey tones afterwards. The result will be so much better.

They are not the same thing. If the logo is grayed out it might be because you are in isolation mode. Or it might be because the logo is on a Template layer. Or it might be because the logo has reduced Opacity.

Grayscale is when the logo is made up of shades of gray, from white to black and any grays in between, and has no color.

What are you trying to accomplish?

Thank you so much for your reply.

I think the right thing for me would be to grayscale the logos, cause then I get different kinds of gray shades which is what I need. The only problem is in a logo thats entirely made of black and then it won't change to a shade of gray.

any suggestions?

I need to vectorize a bunch of logos and gray them out for a client's site. i've been asked to do that.

I'm a beginner in this field...
