Question

Help With Making Die-Cut Stickers!

Hello!

I'm making stickers that'll be printed on my Cricut.

I have pictures that I've cropped and put into illustrator to be made into stickers.

I followed Adobe's die cut sticker tutorial, but I ran into one small problem.

My borders are transparent. I don't know how to fix it. They are supposed to be white but nothing is there when I upload it.

I was wondering if there were any solutions to this?

I was thinking, is there a way to add a white background to an .svg file?

Thanks in advance!

I’m not sure why the transparency matters for printing. The printer is going to see a transparent area as non printing, just like white. It sounds like you didn’t create the cut line. Or maybe you can’t figure out how to create the cutline because there is no shape to select and add a stroke to. Can you share a screen capture of the art? Is the art an image made of pixels or is it vector?

I suspect what you were seeing in your original document was the white of the canvas. You can add a white background to an SVG. Open your SVG in Illustrator. Make a new layer below your artwork and add a rectangle with a white fill and no stroke. Save.

If you follow a tutorial, please post a link.

Also please show your artwork.

Do your stickers consist of a printed part and then a cutting path?

Or do you just cut the sticker?
