how to convert a file from MS Publisher to illustrator

I am new to Adobe Cloud, I am not a designer.  I need help or I will lose my job. This is serious, please!

I am finishing a small project that someone else started but has left our company.  This person was designing tickets for a fundraiser but was using MS Publisher, the company uses Adobe Cloud.  After reading and listening to these long drawn out exempts on tv.adobe.com no one has actually said, here' show you either import from publisher, or start over again with design, illustrator, phtoshop, etc. 

The PDF file is messed not workable because on one page I have two images of the front of the ticket.  I need two pages, one to show the front of the ticket, the other page to reflect the back of the ticket.  There will be text boxes on both sides of the ticket.

All images are of stuff, faces, characters, etc.? How is a novice to figure this out when nothing actually shows how to design what I am trying to design.  I am so frustrated I cannot stop crying!

MSPub has an Illustrator export. Otherwise you are simply looking in the wrong place. Wouldn't it make much more sense to simply finish it off there? You will always lose (editable) data when moving files between tools from different vendors. It's simply the nature of the thing. If the existing files are just PDFs, a detour to Acrobat to export whatever is salvageable and do things like splicing up the separate pages might be the first thing to consider, but really, without seeing anything and having pertinent info on what work files are available, nobody can advise specifically. It may in fact be simpler to rebuild the files from scratch in AI, if there really are only some full size images and a bit of text involved...

It would be easier to complete this small project in Publisher but our office and my home office are all Mac/Apple.  Publisher is nowhere in my life.  Also the file emailed to me is this former's employee's work.  She was designing tickets for an upcoming fundraiser and saved the front of the ticket but not a blank white text representing the back of of the ticket.  Since I do not have both the front and back it has been difficult to create the full ticket. Mylenium, this is why I cannot edit the entire pdf in acrobat.  I can and edit the front of the ticket, but part II is missing.

I've never used the design programs in Adobe which is why creating the same ticket using, let's say Ai,Design, Ps, Dw has been a challenge.  However,

I refuse to be defeated and I'll get this under wrap today!!!

Ugh, I hate Publisher and I work only on Windows-based PCs.

Do you not know anyone who has a PC with MS Office (and Publisher) loaded onto it? The software is pretty common. Unfortunately it does not play nicely with non-Microsoft products. The PDF and AI exports from Publisher are the best bet, but often have flawed results. I usually end up having to re-build Publisher generated artwork. Sometimes the process can go fast; other times it can be a time vampire. Chances are the Publisher-generated artwork you received was made on a PC. You may end up with font issues from jumping platforms unless proper OpenType fonts were used.

I was finally able to get a return call from this former employee. She will send what is needed for this small project.

I have the front of her ticket but need the back of her ticket so I can upload logos.

I prefer to copy the image and upload to Ai, but as I watch tutorial videos to convert to a vector image my system, 2months news, doesn't allow me to proceed.

As stated previously, I refuse to be defeated and this I will accomplish. But if you offer help via mobile, please let me know!
