I am trying to recreate this spirograph in illustrator but i cannot seem to find the right steps and actions to build this particular one. It has a unique floral shape and loops through the shape. If anyone could help me that would be appreciated with what you did to achieve this spirograph. I've been at it for a while now.

This guilloche could be recreated using the application Excentro (don't know if it's still available for any current operating systems). But Illustrator can't do it.

The closest I could get off the top of my head was two zig-zag transform effects expanded and then blended. But it doesn't have the same quality as the original.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I have found an interesting article https://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-create-vector-spirograph-designs--vector-1140 about creating spirograph. Hope it helps.

Regards,

Ashutosh

I made an ellipse and gave it a zig-zag effect to approximate the maximum-width line, then another to approximate the minimum-width line, rotated one and then blended them. Duplicate that blend, then flip it.
