How to rotate text with type tool and resize text frame

With every new adobe update there's something i hate because it's changing something that works normal to something that's stupid.

So there's a text. Text is inserted into frame (area, selection - i don't know how to name it) using normal, default type tool. Now, i need to rotate this text - i need the whole text block to be vertical. So... im rotating it, and only frame rotates, not text.... !@&@#^*&^ ok, there has to be solution. So i double click the circle outside to convert to "Point Type" as it's the only thing i can find in illustrator to allow me to rotate text.

And now i want to resize frame, to fit into the project...

Nope.

After converting it to Point Type i cannot resize frame anymore....
