How to share custom Image Trace Presets between users?

LEGEND ,
May 26, 2017 May 26, 2017

I don't see an option to "export" Image Trace Presets and cannot find them on disk. How can I make custom presets available to other users?

In CC2017 it's in Users/[Username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe lllustrator 21/[language]/

There should be a file in your user folder in the preferences.

It's called: Vectorize Presets

Maybe you need to save a custom setting first.

Thanks, Monika. I've already made custom presets. Still not finding the "Vectorize Presets" folder. Are you on Mac? Can you copy the path?

Sorry, looks like they changed that.

I initially looked in Illustrator CC2017, because CC2015 is not on this machine.

On the other computer there is no Vectorize Presets file. Can you perhaps try and check if it is just hidden?

It's not in the preferences file either, but it must be stored somewhere.

No success finding the "Vectorize Preset" folder/files. I set hidden files to be visible using Terminal. I've looked in:

/Applications/Adobe Illustrator CC 2015.3

and

/Users/rcraighead/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator 20

Guess I'll build the preset from scratch on 6 computers. So much for efficiency.

Monika, because of all the potential issues with CC 2017 my employer is staying with CC 2015. I'll need to find a CC 2015 solution.

Good to know there is at least ONE reason to upgrade though.

Just curious how this question got set as "Answered". Monika's answer was helpful but it does not answer how to share Image Trace Presets in AI CC 2015.

Ray, it should be in the same place (substituting 20 for 21). Also mine says Tracing Presets. It's a text file so you should be able to pass it on.

Hi Larry,

This is where I'm looking:

Screenshot 2017-05-29 17.25.39.png

Am I in the wrong place? I just created a custom Image Trace and closed AI. I don't see a "Tracing Presets" file. Maybe I'm blind.

I've also looked in: /Applications/Adobe Illustrator CC 2015.3/Presets.localized/en_US

You want to be looking in Users/[Username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe lllustrator 20/en_US/ not Application Support.
