Illustrator CC 2019 crash when opening any file.

May 29, 2019 May 29, 2019

Hello

I have replaced a new pc with windows 10, I7 CPU, GTX 1660 video card and CC 2019 installed few days ago.

Both photoshop and premiere were working fine but illutrator didn't.

When I try to open a new file or a existing file, it will crash about 10 second later. I tried to reinstall or reboot but nothing helped.

i have searched the forum for a few hours and decided to ask for help.

Thanks.

Hi, by chance did you try to uninstall and install Adobe Illustrator again? If it's useful, I suggest you use Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool

Did you make sure you have a default printer set up?

Illustrator looks for a printer when opening and saving a file.

If it can't find one it tends to crash

I did remove all apps with the tool including the adobe cc control panel.

Reinstall and illustrator still failed to open any files.

Any other suggestions, please?

Have you checked the printer and re-assigned it as the default one? This is sometimes necessary after updates.

Is this a printer queue?

Can you create new files in Illustrator?

Does it fail to open any file or just some?

Where are your files located?

Are you connected to a server?

Are you connected to a synching service such as iCloud?

Do you use font management? Which one?

Can you create a simple file with just a rectangle in it and save it to your desktop? Does it open?

Thanks for response. Please see comments below.

Is this a printer queue?

Yes, I did. Default printer is manually set up with a green check mark.

Can you create new files in Illustrator?         NO, once I create new object it will crash.

Does it fail to open any file or just some?

Yes, I can select which file I want to open but illustrator crashes anyway after clicking open button.....

Where are your files located?       At the local drive.

Are you connected to a server?       Not yet.

Are you connected to a synching service such as iCloud?

Not yet because this is a new PC. There is only NOD32 anti-virus and office 2007.

Do you use font management? Which one?   NO.

Can you create a simple file with just a rectangle in it and save it to your desktop? Does it open?

Sorry I cant open anything....not have a chance to try save files.

Enlight,

Did you perform a full reinstallation?

A) Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences),

B) Run the Cleaner Tool, and

C) Reinstall.

To uninstall:

Uninstall or remove Creative Cloud apps

Cleaner Tool:

Awesome, been on with Adobe for a bit and that never came it. Worked for me when I set the default as this PC isn't connected to a physical printer.
