Illustrator CC fine on Network, super slow using wifi

Just what the title says- Illustrator works fine on our office ethernet (working in the office), but super, super slow using wifi (working from home). So slow in fact, I can't use it at all. Beach ball city.

NOTE: I am using the same laptop in both instances. All the other apps work FINE- EXCEPT Illustrator!

Obviously it has something to do with our wifi, and with Illustrator. But how can I remedy it?

    yes.

hmmm. I didn't know that. I was going to try the ethernet connection but my (newish) MacBook Pro does not have an ethernet slot! Or am I being stupid?

I tried turning off the synching toggle, no difference. If that's what you mean.

Not sure what you mean there.... Can I even access CC without internet???

PS thank you for trying to help me.

Like the Auxillary port for new iPhones... Ethernet access requires a thunderbolt to ethernet adapter...

Yes, you should be able to still use Illustrator without the internet as it is installed on your computer... (it will need a connection every 30 days (I think?) to establish that your license key is still valid).

And essentially [EDIT] the reason you shouldn't work over WiFi etc. (it's not terrible but) - I would never recommend it because it means you may/may not be able to save, access the file, the file may become corrupted due to a drop in signal when saving.. and additional linked assets etc may slow the computer and your workflow down...

But this is just my opinion I should point out.

If your working from within the office where the files are stored its less of a problem.

Are you trying to edit a file hosted elsewhere via WiFi or are you editing a file on your computer?

OR either of the above with illustrator not on your computer?

Since I was having trouble, I copied the file from our server on to my laptop and tried to work on it from there. Same thing. No dice.

And you are definitely opening the file on your laptop with Illustrator?

Unless you have a fixed ethernet connection to a local network or shared drive - you should never try editing files over WiFi (from personal experience)

Have you also checked that you aren't syncing your files (to somewhere) everytime you try and edit them?

What happens if you completely disable your internet - ethernet and WiFi?
