Illustrator CC2020 multiple project tabs feature quits working randomly on macOS Catalina

Explorer ,
Feb 03, 2020 Feb 03, 2020

I typically have 4-5 projects open at a time in tabs.  Randomly about every hour or so, Illustrator will lose use of this feature and I will only be able to view the project that I was viewing at the time.   Clicking on other tabs does nothing.  Only restarting Illustrator or dragging the tabs into their own windows rectifies the issue.  This is my second post because it's super frustrating.

I have tried:  Uninstalling/Reinstalling, deleting preferences.

Illustrator 24.0.3

Mac OS Catalina 10.15.2

iMac 4.2 ghz , 48g RAM, Radeon Pro 580 8 GB

Hi Dean,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd recommend turning off the GPU Performance under Preferences > Performance.
Let us know if it helps you out.

Regards,

Ashutosh

Hello Ashutosh,

This setting did help my tabs problem however my performance without the GPU took a major hit.  Will this be fixed in future updates?

Thank you,

Dean
