    Hi Sarahc106,

Try opening a file from the desktop or a different location. Does it happen when you create a new file from scratch? Has it worked before? Are you on a Windows or Mac computer?

You might also test if the same behavior occurs from a new user account with Administrative rights

    Windows 7  - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows7/Create-a-user-account

    Windows 8  - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/create-user-account

I am having the same issue. Adobe Illustrator starts fine but when I try to create or open any file it hangs and then goes to Not Responding when Photoshop is running.

I noticed this issue while photoshop was running and trying to open or create new files in Illustrtaor.

I am using Creative Cloud and all apps are up to date

I am running Mac OS 10.8.2 with 12GB RAM on an i7 iMac - System showing 6GB of Free memory through out this process...

    1st Process:

I quit all aplications and opened Activity Monitor to see exactly when Illustrator would go to "Not Responding"

Again, Illustrator opened quickly and with out issue.

I created a new file from template and that worked with out issue.

I closed that file and opened a file I had created previosly and after waiting a bit it opened and the app went to Not Responding at the same time.

Then Illustrator went back to oporating normally.

    2nd Process:

I quit Illustrator and opened Photoshop and tried again.

I opened Illustrator with out issue.

I tried to create a new file. Then Illustrator died again (Not Responding)

    3rd Process:

I Force Quit Illustrator and opened it again - Opened fine.

I created a new file from template - once again no issue.

I then opened the file I had created earlier - no issue.

I created a new file - no issue.

    Closed all and quit Illustrator.

    4th Process:

    Re-Opened Illustrator (photoshop still running)

went to File > New and got (Not Responding)

So it appears that as long as I start with a template I can then create and open existing files. I have always worked in both apps and never had to quit one to be in the other or start from a template in order to open an existing file. Please advise.

Same issues here. Illustrator was working fine and then started the "not respoding" issue. I'm unable to start illustrator and run file new. If I get lucky I can open a small file that I've added to my desktop but file new is a 50/50 shot even after a file is already open.

Is there any moment on this? I'm also still having CCC issues and there is the odd disapearing mouse cursor in Photoshop. I would like to see some more activy on these issues. I am paying Adobe monthley to use "working" software.

    Running Mac OSX 10.8.3

    Please help.
