Hello Adobe Community,

I am having a terrrible experince with Adobe Illustrator in MacOS, the app turns unusable with any file that has mildly complex vectors or large size embedded images. It becomes laggy and unresponsive.

I have tried almost all the solutions that I could find online and in the support community without improvment, some of the fixes that I tried:

  1. Disabling keyboard dedication
  2. Turning off font preview
  3. Using GPU/CPU views
  4. Turning off overprint preview
  5. Reducing undo count to 50
  6. Turned off data recovery for complex files
  7. Reset NVRAM
  8. Disabled Anti-aliased atrwork
  9. Disabled Automatic Graphic Switching in MacOS preferences

I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016), 2.6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, Radeon Pro 450 2 GB Graphics, 256GB SSD. It runs MacOS Big Sur Version 11.5. Adobe Illustrator Version is 25.3.1.

I hope someone can help if fixing this issue.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, we're sorry you're having trouble with Adobe Illustrator. We will do our best to help you. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software? You could use Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to uninstall Adobe Illustrator and delete any corrupt files.

Hi,

I have uninstalled the app via the tool provided, there was a little improvment. I will test it for a couple of days then will come back with feedback. Thanks for the suggestion.
