Illustrator won´t save changes on file

Hi!

So I have an illustrator file, and everytime I make changes to it, when I save, close and reopen the file, it's as if I never changed anything. Also, a temp file appears besides my file, and it just stays there.

Also I can't  save any pdfs as a copy. Whenever I try to, I put "save as a copy", select PDF, accept; and then nothing happens. No PDF window opens, no PDF file is created.

Could this be a bug?

If you are saving to a network - what happens if you save locally?

Also: try and turn off the "Save in Background" in the preferences.
