Import Shortcut Keys (.kys file) into Illustrator CC for MacOS

Hi

I'm got a new Macbook and I'm trying to upload the shortcut keys I'd exported from my old macbook.  It's a .kys file obviously, but I can't find out where to import it to?

All the tutorials online about how to do this with illustrator end up being tuts about how to do it with photoshop or how to do it on windows where the file system is different?

Any help would be amazing.

The file is in your preferences folder. And needs to be in the new preferences folder.

Where to find the folder: How to set preferences in Illustrator

Apple thinks, you're incapable of handling your user library folder, so it hides it from you. Press Alt and then select Go To > Library in Finder

Hi Monica,

This doesn't make sense. The file I'm trying to upload is a .kys file.  I have that preferences file using the file path in the link you provided, but what does that mean?

I'm trying to work out where to upload the .kys file to with my shortcut keys in?  I'm confused.

Many thanks,

Paul.

Your kys file goes into the preferences folder.

When you launch Illustrator then you should be able to select the shortcut set in the Edit > Shortcuts dialog box.

If that doesn't work, Illustrator might not recognize the file.
