Importing PDF to illustrator issues

Hi so I'm facing this really strange issue lately when I import my pdf of CAD drawings in illustrator it breaks up my drawings in multiple lines :s It was working fine till like last week but now when I have a submission coming up its doing this :S Please can someone help!

Illustrator is not a general purpose PDF editor.

If you didn't update Illustrator during that time, then most likely your issue is caused by the application that writes the PDF.

Maybe the CAD software that generated the PDF didn't convert the curves to something Illustrator can manage, giving you this awkward result.

Generally speaking, I'd use something like svg or dwg to export/import curves from CAD to Ai rather than PDF.

What software do you use for CAD Drawing, though? Try exporting in another vector format and see how Ai manages the file.

so if I use the dxf format from the same CAD file it seems to work fine which I'm using now. However the pdf I just found easier and faster :s But I will try another format as you suggested! Thank you
