Increase Decrease brush shortcuts not working

whatever I set as preferences for brush increase/decrease shortcuts they won't work.

I tried with the default ones, changed them, changed the keyboard layout...nothing changes: I can't use these precious shortcuts.

Can anyone help me?

I have a MacBook Pro Retina 2015

Usually those problems arise from using a non US leyboard layout and/or a non US version of applications.

Illustrator and Photoshop use [ and ] to change the brush sizes, I think you find out those do not work on your sytem.

(Those shortcuts are also used for selecting in moving up/down in a layer)

Sometimes, changing the shorcut keys used solves the problem.

I remember trying in PS or Ai for a Spanish keyboard and app version and I was unsucessful.

Which language are you using for Ai, and keyboard layout?

It is actually a problem with the keyboard. I have an italian one, but so far I had no problems with the Photoshop shortcuts.

I tried many different shortcuts: no one worked. Now I finally got to + and ': these work. Do not ask me why all of the others wouldn't. Thank you for your help!
