hi everyone!

i have been using a free trial of adobe illustrator and today I bought a years subscription. i had a saved file on my computer which I had added a lot of layers to during my 30 day trial but when I bought my subscription the layers had disappeared. Does anyone have any ideas about how i can recover my lost layers as it was a lot of work!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Thank you for your reply! I'm not so good with these things but the file finishes in .ai

is this right?

Try doing a search on your computer and see if you saved the .ai file somewhere else. Also if you aren't seeing the layers in the .ai you have on your desktop and you don't have a recovery file. I would say the work is lost. Going from trial to subscription, shouldn't do anything to your file.

Hi Louise,

As mentioned above by experts, turning from trial to a paid subscription would not do anything to your saved files. It has nothing to do with the files and no workflow is involved in it.

You should check for your saved AI files, I assume you are not opening the correct ones. Where did you save your files? Was it locally in the system, a network drive or any cloud service like Dropbox?

Regards,

Om
