I am a continuing ed student studying Adobe Illustrator, and need tutoring in the basics such as using the knife tool, enlarging images, etc. I think the information I need is basic enough for me to get it online.
I would be willing to pay an hourly rate, through paypal, or whatever the tutor would prefer. I can be reached at [moderator: removed private email address]
One of things you could look at is finding an Adobe Certified Instructor in your local area, that might be able to help you with this using the Adobe Authorised Training Partner Finder.
Set Product expertise to 'Adobe Illustrator', Learning options to 'Web-based training' (or leave this set to ALL if you want to see a complete list of instructors), and Partner type to 'Certified Instructor', and select Location (country / state).

Also if you add some information about the country/time-zone you are in, local area tutors seeing this post can respond to you request on this forum as well.

Thanks for the tip. There are no resources in my area, so I am looking for
on line tutoring., So far I have been contacted by Varsity Tutoring and am
hoping for the best. It's $75 an hour, so I am hoping the level of
instruction will be helpful.

Cari,
I tired this but the location is greyed out. I made the mistake of calling your "support" number and a person in India answered and I could not understand them and they would not answer my question and kept me on hold for a long time. They then said they could e-mail me someone in Long Beach. I had told them I live in Napa Valley which is far from Long Beach, obviously he does not know anything about US geography.
Trying to find a local expert seems like a common and reasonable question for a CUSTOMER who has paid for your service for many years now. Adobe's service is awful. I never look forward to trying to get help from Adobe as you simply route the call to a person who knows nothing about your products. Seems like an odd approach to customer service.
Can you help me find an Illustrator expert in Napa valley???

One place to check is your local community college for classes on graphic design.

I had a basic knowledge from college, but I've found Skillshare to be a huge help with tutorial videos. I'm not sure if it will help you, but you may want to check it out. Here's a link to two free months: http://skl.sh/2nPmTbm . Hope it helps!
