Not able to open .BMP files in Illustrator 24.0.3

Hi,

i have updated the latest version of Illustrator.

Today I open an old file that contains an QRcode originated in BITMAP on Photoshop.

Also the Photoshop is updated (I work with Adobe plataform - graphic Desktop Publisher).

Why the Illustrator tell me that can't open because dont' have the plugin BITMAP?

We can't use the Bitmap files?? why????

Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind sharing some more information like:
1. Version of OS.
2. Is it happening with a specific BMP file or with all the files?
3. Do you save files locally or on a network?
4. Have you tried resetting preferences? (If not, please try doing that. You may follow the steps provided on https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html#setting_illustrator_preferences)

**Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.
You may also share a screenshot or a small video with your post here. All this information will help us understand the issue and work accordingly. Looking forward to your response.
