Offset Path Units

It would be helpful for offset path measurement to be standalone from the general preferences. For example, ruler measurements could be set to inches while offset path units remain points.

You can type in any kind of unit. If the ruler is set to inches and you type a number as pt or pts, Illustrator will do the calculation for you.

Thank you. I am aware of that feature. Still not as streamlined as simply type in the number in hitting enter. It did operate this way pre-CS. I thought the illustrator and college level for about five years.

Is this an Illustrator question? Because that's what the moderator guessed it was!
