Pen Tool cursor now looks like a multiplication sign 'x'

Until yesterday, my pen tool cursor looked normal: a pen icon.

This morning, without changing cursor settings, it appeared as a multiplication sign, 'x'.

It has, just now, returned to normal.

Anyone knows what happened?

yep. edit > preferences > general > use precise cursors.

the shortcut for this is caps lock by default. toggle your caps lock to see.
