polygon glowing line pattern

Hello,

Im trying to create a similar pattern as in the attached image in illustrator that would repeat and the colors would be editable.

I've setup guides based on a polygon/triangle shape but I cant seem to figure out how to create the transparent areas that mask the lines yet stay within an angle.
