Try using Adobe Bridge instead.

How does Adobe Bridge solve this issue?

Just curious...

I use a cloud storage solution, but when searching using Bridge, it causes all results to download to my local PC which I don't want

Hi @peterb35156539,

Sorry to hear about that. Could you please share a few more details like:

  • Which OS and version of Bridge is this?
  • What are you searching for exactly?
  • Which results or files are getting downloaded on your local PC?
  • Are you unable to export to the cloud folder?

  • Is this about cache data? If yes, by default, it is stored on the local drive.

  • A small video demonstrating the issue could be really helpful.

Will be looking forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini

Here's an idea @peterb35156539 . You could search normally in Windows to find the file, then drop it onto a Bridge icon on your Desktop to open it in Bridge to preview.

I don't see how any solution can preview a file without downloading it though.

Use Adobe Bridge to preview your images.  If you are asking about previewing thumbnails in Windows File Explorer,  you'll need to get a 3rd party app like Sage Thumbs shell.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for reaching out. I agree with Bob and Nancy about the usage of Adobe Bridge.
It is a powerful creative asset manager that lets you preview, organize, edit and publish multiple creative assets quickly and easily. You can edit metadata, add keywords, labels and ratings to assets, organize assets using collections and find assets using powerful filters and advanced metadata search features. You can also collaborate with Libraries and publish to Adobe Stock, right from Bridge.
You may download Adobe Bridge right through the Creative Cloud App or by clicking on the https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/download/bridge
Hope it helps.

Regards,

Ashutosh
