Resolution of placed image in illustrator?

New Here ,

Transparent CMYK PPI- 154.jpeg

What does this area (circled in red) mean in illustrator CC. Our production dept asked for a new illustrator file with a higher resolution placed in illustrator. I show that the photoshop files provided and linked to the illustrator file were 300 pixels per inch each. I am not certain why they embedded the image when I sent them the files as linked, but even my illustrator file shows this PPI.

If you enlarge an embedded or linked image the effective resolution will be decreased. For example, If you enlarge an image that is 300 ppi by 200% your new resolution will be 150 ppi.

DId you scale the image after placing it in Illustrator?

In that case your resolution has changed.
