Rounding Multiple Shape Corner

New Here ,
Oct 26, 2017 Oct 26, 2017

Hello,

I am having a heck of a time trying to find a way to round corners of multiple objects, one on top of the other. Please see the age in the link below. On the left, you can see that I have a square with it’s corners outlined. I would like it to look like the rounded square on the right. When I try to round the outlines in the corners, it rounds every corner. If I try to merge the objects, I lose the multi color aspect. I’m not too experienced with Illustrator so it may be something easy but if anyone can help I’d appreciate it!

Deselect everything.

Use the Direct Selection Tool- the white arrow

Drag a selection marquee to just cover one of the corner you are interested in  ( sometimes easier in view > outline mode)

release mouse

Hold down keyboard shift to add to the selection,

and in turn marquee select the other 3 corners.

let go of shift

Drag any one of the selected corner widgets to move them all.

Hi. The trick is to have everything stacked when you begin, AND use the Direct Selection (white arrow) Tool. Perhaps this video will help:
