Question

Saving files in cloud folders with AI 2019

I have very frustrating issue with new Illustrator. Each time I'm working on file saved in any sync cloud folder (Google Drive, One Drive, Dropbox, even Adobe Cloud) I cannot save file with Ctrl+S becouse each time there is info that file is used by other application or read-only.

So far the only solution exept saving in local folders is installing previous version Illustrator (22). But both ways are not the way it shloud be, and as it work proper on AI 22 I assume it is yet another broken thing as always with new Adobe releases

Hi Piotr,

Looks like Adobe Illustrator 2019 does not have permission to access Network Drives. We at Adobe, have very limited support for Network-based Environments because there are so many other things involved with it(Technical support boundaries for virtualized or server-based environments  ) but from my personal experience, I would suggest you few things which you must check:

  • Check if this is happening with your user account only or with multiple users.
  • Check if there is any antivirus or if there is any endpoint security or if there is any restriction imposed by your IT Team. Due to this sometimes server does not allow the application to save but you are able to save outside the application.
  • This generally happens when network policies or Operating System is updated, check with your IT team for the same.

Regards,

Srishti

Well, that is working totally fine for me, at least with saving to Adobe Creative Cloud storage. Tried it over and over again with multiple files.

- So that being the case, what Operating system are you running?

- With the Adobe Cloud storage, are you saving it to the local folder that syncs to the cloud or are you trying to save directly to the cloud storage?
