Smooth Tool Shortcode

Hello,

I've been using the smooth tool quick key ALT(OPTION)+N since the tool came out. I got a new computer with the same version of Illustrator as my other computer and now the quick key I was using is to make a straight line for the pencil. Is there any way to fix this??? I tried updating the shortcode but it says Option/alt can't be used as a shortcode.

thank you! I had this same problem and in pencil options your comment helped me find the toggle for smooth with the option key :

Double click the pencil tool in the tool panel to set what Alt should do.

Hi Felicia. By default, the Smooth tool doesn't have a shortcut. Also, you cannot use Cmd/Ctrl, Option/Alt, or Function keys as Shortcuts for Tools. That's why the tools shortcuts are single letters or Shift + letter, so you need to stick that rules to create your own shortcuts.

It actually does they just changed it, and my question is to change it back. It was Pencil tool +Option(alt) Now it's Blob tool +option.
