Question

Symbol Font Not Found, but installed

I recently had my computer updated to Windows 10 which required all of my programs to be loaded back onto it. I went to open an InDesign catalog that I am working on, but the links started throwing errors that there was a font that wasn't installed on the computer. The font is located on my computer and when I open one of the links I am able to change the font from Symbol* to Symbol and it updates the file. I do not want to have to do this every time I open a file containing the symbol font. I also have over 700 images that will need to be updated from Symbol* to Symbol.

Has anyone come across this problem and been able to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

C

Did you open a PDF of the catalog in Illustrator (in that case this forum is for you) or did you open the INDD of the catalog in InDesign (in that case please head over to the InDesign forum).

I opened in it InDesign but the problem is occuring in Illustrator. I can post it in InDesign - it is really in all of the CS products. When I open the files as a .pdf the file looks like. When I update the link in InDesign, the copyright symbol disappears.

Can you please describe step by step what you open where and when the problem appears?

    I can't follow.

    Also: screenshots help.
