Well, I went onto illustrator and I don't know why I didn't catch this problem earlier but my GPU wasn't working with illustrator. I clicked on GPU performance in my preferences and it says "Compatible GPU available. Update driver to use GPU performance." After seeing this I went and attempted to update my display driver but when I tried updating it it said it was already updated to the latest version. I'm not sure what it is because I've tried so many different ways to fix the problem but the problem continues to persist. Illustrator still says that a compatible GPU is available but I have the latest drivers.
Hi, though the question is from years ago, I'll still post it because this WORKED FOR ME and people might have the same issue:
I've searched on Windows10 for "Graphics Settings". From the Graphics Settings' menu, I chose the voice "classic app" and then browsed for illustrator.exe in my PC; selected it and then I saw it in pop in the Graphics Setting menu. Clicked on it > option> Hight performance.
Started Illustrator and went to the preferences Menu to change the Performance settings & activate "

Tomas,
I wonder whether you may be caught up in this GPU issue, described by butz in post #13 here:
https://forums.adobe.com/message/7773402#7773402
You can see the actual card requirements here:

You may try the solution kindly offered by Jason in post #67 here:

I checked all the requirements and I seem to meet them all. I tried the solution but in the solution, Jason has a Nvidia GPU and I currently don't have one. Because of this, I cannot follow through with the complete steps. I am using my Intel HD Graphics card and it is up to date. I really wish this was a problem of the past. There are so many other people that seem to be having the same problem.

Tomas,
I had hoped that you could find corresponding final steps for your card, and I take it the initial Sniffer step was insufficient to really help.
Sorry and good luck.

Things I did before, that did not work, but were standard procedure for this "problem solving":
I've searched for my GRAPHIC CARD's name. I have a dedicated one and to find it's model's name I used a program I downloaded back when I had to buy new ram for the computer. The program analyses the hardware on the PC and then show you all the details for different categoryes. (It does not need to install anything, just download & run it) It's called Speccy64.
THEN I've INSTALLED THE DRIVES from the graphic's card manufacturer site by searching the model on google.
After restarting the computer and opening illustrator, that still did not work.
I went to the graphic card driver's software I just downloaded and manually set High Performances for illustrator from their menu. Most of this kind of manufacturer's software should give you this capability.
Still, opening illustrator and going to preferences, it did not see my Graphic card. It's then that I've searched for "graphics setting" in Windows & found the menu I've thought you before.
Hope this could be useful to somebody, like the post in case! bye

Without even knowing the exact description of the problem or your hardware configuration nobody can help you. And by the way: this thread is 4 years old.
You might want to create a new thread, describe the issue, describe your hardware and software setting and then maybe someone can help you.
You can also contact Customer Care and have them look into your system: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
