When I upgraded to 2020 Illustrator, I no longer have the search bar that helps find commands or tools within the software. It's not the Adobe Help/Adobe Stock search bar.
For example, if I typed "circle", it would show a selection of tools below like Ellipse Tool, that I could click on as if it's the actual button.
I've been searching Illustrator and the web and I can't find the answer. Thanks for your help.
Are you sure you're not mistaking Illustrator with Photoshop?

Yes. I think you are right. I confused it with Photoshop.

It's not all unreasonable to assume that this function would (should) exist in more than one Adobe program.

The latest version of Illustrator still provides a search bar in the Help menu, but it still does only search for menu items and application help topics.
Currently, there is no support for searching and activating tools.

this is one place where illustrator shows it's age.
