Why is my printer not printing CMYK colours?

Hi there. I printed some sticker sheets with my Epson ecotank printer and I found that the colours are not even close to the colours I’ve picked from my CMYK Pantone swatch. The colours seem closer to the monitor which is RGB. I know I can’t get exactly the same colours as the CMYK Pantone swatch since it’s just a home printer, but I wonder why the printer is printing RGB colour even though my illustrator file is in CMYK colour. Is there anything I can do with the print settings or Illustrator's settings?

Home printers are optimized for RGB input. Make an RGB file for them and mix colors that way. It also makes sense to make test prints.
