Question

Why isn't my gradient feather printing onto paper?

So, I've designed this flyer for work and I've applied a feather to two of the images. When I print from Illustrator, it looks correct. However, when I save the design as a PDF and then print from Acrobat the feather disappears and instead it does a weird crop around my image. Help?

Here a screen shot of the flyer in Illustrator:

Here is a photo of the flyer printed from Acrobat:

However, when I print from Illustrator it prints fine. The only reason I'm concerned is because I'm not the only one printing and not everyone has access to Illustrator.

So you have applied feather to a placed image?

Please tell us exactly how this has been built.

Sometimes there are transparency issues when saving to .pdf file.

You could try to change the PDF settings default to "High Quality Print" or "PDF X-4".

Or you could try to go to your Object menu and flatten transparency to see if that helps. Might have to change some settings in the dialog box.
